During the post-ACUNS visit to Kyoto, ACUNS`s past President, Lise Howard, and new President, Franz Baumann, were invited by Kyoto University of the Arts President Sakiko YOSHIKAWA for a working lunch at a traditional Japanese restaurant. At the ACUNS Annual Meeting held at the Komaba campus of the University of Tokyo on 21 June, Professors Shigeyuki KAZAMA and Kazuya NAKAYAMA of the Kyoto University of the Arts, made their presentations along with Professor SHINYO Takahiro, Special Advisor to the President and Professor of Kwansei Gakuin University and former Ambassador to the United Nations and Germany. The Former Ambassador to UNESCO and SRSG in Afghanistan, Tadamichi YAMAMOTO, and the Ambassador of Afghanistan in Norway, Youssef GHAFOORZAI, commented on their presentations. They were joined by Professor SHENG Hong of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, China, and Ms. Poulomi BHADRA, Assistant Professor of the Jindal Global University, India. (21/6/2024)

The Annual Meeting of the Academic Council of the United Nations was held from June 20 to 22 June 2024, at the United Nations University Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. About 500 scholars and practitioners of the United Nations activities participated in the conference including nearly 300 from abroad and 200 from Japan.
